The IBM 7205 Model 311
(7205-311) is an external, stand-alone, SCSI-attached,
digital linear tape drive that attaches to the
RS/6000/pSeries family of workstations and servers. In
addition to reading and writing on DLT**-format tape data
cartridges, the 7205 provides an excellent migration path
from 1/4-inch, 4mm, or 8mm tape drives. It is a very
cost-effective solution for save-and-restore and archiving
functions. The Model 7205-311 provides a media
capacity of up to 35GB (70GB with 2:1 compression) data
storage per cartridge and a sustained data rate of up to
5.0MB per second (uncompressed).
