The 7206 Model 005
offers 4.0 GB native data capacity and up to 8-GB capacity
when using data compression, a data transfer rate of 400
Kbytes per second (native) and up to 800 Kbytes/sec with
data compression. The 7206 Model 005 is a stand-alone 4-mm
tape drive that operates in streaming mode and attaches to
the IBM RS/6000* via a standard SCSI cable. The 7206 Model
005 provides low cost save and restore functions for
migrating files from other 4-mm-based workstations and
systems. The new 7206 Model 005 can read and write data
cartridges written on a 7206 Model 001.
